It’s November 2025 but the Singapore government failed to protect women and children despite signing CEDAW and UNCRC

Recently, the first biggest news in Singapore is about the death of four-year-old Megan Khung Yu Wai in 2020.

1. Police officers failed to follow processes

Has the Singapore Police Force improved from 2020 till 2025 or is the rot at the top?

The current age threshold of Appropriate Adult Scheme for Young Suspects is 16 years old. According to the Singapore government Appropriate Adults will be activated for all suspects under the age of 16. This was after the tragic suicide of 14-year-old Benjamin Lim in 2016.

Are there children below the age of 16 being brought into interrogation room to be questioned by the police one to one?

The answer is the Singapore Police Force did not improved and there are children being brought into the room to be questioned by the police one to one with the latest incident being on 5 November 2025 which the child is not the only child, went on to tell the other siblings about how it’s gonna be alone in the interrogation room. The children involved are not even below 16, they are actually below 7 years old and they have to face interrogation by police alone.

2. Child Protective Service did not log call

Do they log all calls and improve from 2020 till 2025 or is the rot at the top?

In August 2025, victims have been calling National Anti-Violence & Sexual Harassment Helpline (NAVH) 1800-777-0000 for help.

There was no help.

In September 2025, victims changed to call Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) 1800-222-0000 for help.

Victims were told to wait for help from NAVH.

On 27 September 2014, I was at Hong Lim Park.

By 27 October 2014, I was charged in court together with five other people, the police completed all investigations of 6,000 people, interviewed hundreds of Singaporeans, sent warning letters and charge sheet to us all within a month.

Why is the government using so much resources on political persecution against me?

Yet when it comes to violence and abuses, it take MSF and NAVH such a long period of time to protect victims in 2025?

3. More urgency, details needed

According to Singapore government, one of the reason why the death of four-year-old Megan Khung Yu Wai happened in 2020 was because there was no mention of any suspected drug activities, as it could not be verified at the time.

Do they now mention intoxication in their report and improve from 2020 till 2025 or is the rot at the top?

Are drugs the only thing that cause intoxication?

What about vapes? Alcohol addition? Sexual addiction? Gambling addiction?

What about domestic abused victims who have to live in constant fear of the abuser’s addiction not knowing when it will kick in to cause a violent reaction?

It’s easy to say one can just call the police, but do you know what time the police takes to arrive in 2025?

In October 2025, victims called the police at 1822 but because it was knock off time, it took almost 40 minutes for the police to arrive as compared to what SPF boast on their website that it’s only 15 minutes. With such a long waiting time, it’s easy for abusers to commit violence and leave the location. Does this encourage or discourage victims from making report knowing the police won’t arrive in time and the abuser will leave, that they will look like they are making false police report?

What can be done to protect victims?

4. Centre did not take up Megan’s case

This was because the pre-school had informed child protection specialist centre Heart@Fei Yue (HFY) that Megan could not be found, had been exposed to excessive punishment previously, a temporary care plan had been breached by the family, and that Foo was abusing drugs.

Has the child protection specialist centre Heart@Fei Yue improved from 2020 till 2025 or is the rot at the top?

First, child protection specialist centre Heart@Fei Yue is basically MSF’s representative.

Second, why is Heart@Fei Yue not worried when the parent is hiding the child?

Third, why is Heart@Fei Yue not questioning the breaches against the welfare of the child?

Fourth, why is Heart@Fei Yue not informing authorities about abusing of vice be it drugs, alcohol, sexual content, gambling content or whatever that will lead to a violent outcome?

Apparently, calling Heart@Fei Yue for help doesn’t work.

Victims called in September 2025, they have an office hour.

Victims called in October 2025, they were told to call their respective case worker.

Victims called the case worker in November 2025, the case worker is either busy, visiting other families, going for training.

In the end?

Victims were told to use smartphones to download WhatsApp to type out what happened despite the victims saying they have nothing because abuse happened in a chaotic manner and the victims just wanted to protect each other from the abuser thus forgot to take any form of evidence.

The police will have record and evidence, but the lack of communication between the police and Heart@Fei Yue causes distress to the victims simply because they don’t have any evidence as they were taken by the police.

Do they think about abused victims with no smartphones or no WhatsApp?

Do they think abusers are gonna give victims devices for them to keep evidence and to properly sit down to type out how they have been abused?

5. Misperception about lodging police reports

People fear reporting to the authorities, as it could affect the rapport between professionals and their clients, or affect the agency’s reputation if suspicions of child abuse turned out to be unfounded.

Once a report is made to the police, police inform the abuser immediately, does that keep the victims safe?

When I face political persecution, the whole process was less than a month for the police to investigate 6,000 of us, interrogate hundreds of us, go through CCTV footages, cameras footages, watch all the videos and even went through all my social media postings.

Yet when it comes to abuses, why is the Singapore Police Force not using as much resources to protect Singaporeans?

Next, the second biggest news in Singapore is about the leader of opposition telling lies.

The ruling political party has once again successfully used mainstream media propaganda and media manipulation to distract Singaporeans from the main issue.

There are two main issues:

First, sexual assault.

Second, sexual abuse.

Yes, they may have been proven to have told lies.

However, why did they lie?

Why did she not admit she is a victim right from the start?

Why are victims often living in fear?

Why don’t victims step forward and report such incidents since most sexual victims do not just face one form of abuse?

Has the Singapore Police Force improved in helping sexually assaulted victims or sexually abused victims from 2020 till 2025 or is the rot at the top?

Usually sexually assaulted victims face the perpetrators once, but sexually abused victims are still facing the perpetrators until the police conclude the case.

This child was raped at 13 years old in 2017, it was only 8 years later in 2025 now that she is 21 that she gets her justice:

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/no-remorse-man-confronted-for-sexually-abusing-daughter-retorts-it-takes-two-hands-to-clap

How do sexual abused victims live with abusers claiming that she is the one who seduced him for 8 years because justice was served 8 years later, how can the system improve to help victims?

Given the long waiting time to get justice, won’t perpetrators be out to continue the exploitation and gaslight the victims into they are at fault and make them give up their fight for justice by draining them of their energy during the 8 long years?

What about situations where children are born out of such abuses?

Just because the mother was raped doesn’t mean she has to go for abortion, perhaps what she needs is to have a safe space to raise her children during the wait for the police investigation to be over, what can we do to protect such women and children?

This perpetrator, despite the police got hold of the sexual evidences in 2024, it took almost two years for him to go to court:

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/jail-for-man-who-committed-incest-with-older-daughter-took-videos-of-younger-child-showering

How are sexually abused victims supposed to survive when abusers show no remorse and claimed the victims want to be abused during the period of police investigation?

Many times, abusers have many other forms of abuses for them to reach such severity, victims have to navigate not just their direct abuses but also indirect threats, such as many of the abusers are breadwinners, they hold the financial threats to use against the victims.

Abusers will delete evidence and deprive victims to devices to seek help or additional money for legal advice, what can be done to protect and assist the victims?

Public resources should be used to improve the lives of Singaporeans, to protect our women and children just like what the Singapore government signed with the United Nations, what is the Singapore government doing to protect victims?
