#ReturnOurCPF #还我们公积金 | YMCA witness Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar
The second tranche of our court case is open to public from 24 to 26 Feb 2016 from 9am to 6pm.
The 4 Deputy Public Prosecutors involved are:
1. Senior Director/Senior State Counsel/DPP Francis NG Yong Kiat
2. Deputy Senior State Counsel/DPP John LU Zhuoren
3. State Counsel/DPP Amanda CHONG Wei-Zhen
4. State Counsel/DPP Jane LIM Ern Hui
The following was what happened in court and all grammar mistakes and sounds made are as it is:
Han Hui Hui: Why did you hold the flag?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Someone passed me the flag saying that someone at the front drop the flag so I hold the flag in one hand and pole in the other hand, it was not my intention to hold the flag.
Han Hui Hui: Did you witness any of us blowing the whistle?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Yes.
Han Hui Hui: Who?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Janet, Ms Janet.
Han Hui Hui: As the witness right now, do you think it is possible to win this case for the accused?
4 Deputy Public Prosecutors: *objection*
Han Hui Hui: This is about the credibility of the witness, could you read to me what did you write?
4 Deputy Public Prosecutors: *objection*
Judge: Can you just read the sentence? If not we will shut this down.
Han Hui Hui: Ariffin Sha says the judge is a kangaroo judge…
4 Deputy Public Prosecutors: *objection*
Judge: *next question*
Han Hui Hui: Ariffin Sha started this conversation, what was your purpose of this conversation if you’re not the organiser?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: As you would recall, you are the one who first started this CPF protest, so just because I was in this conversation it doesn’t have anything to do with me.
Han Hui Hui: Then what were you trying to say about holding the placards all these?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Suggestion erm casual conversation.
Han Hui Hui: Suggestion for holding the placards where?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Hong Lim Park.
Han Hui Hui: Holding the placards at Hong Lim Park for what event?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Can’t remember.
Han Hui Hui: Who did you ask to shout?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Roy.
Han Hui Hui: Why did you ask Roy to shout?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: Erm that was a joke and whatever Roy shouted at Hong Lim Park wasn’t even what I asked him to shout.
Han Hui Hui: Did he shout anything about Teo Ser Luck?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: In the conversation, I told Roy to shout you will vote for him or not but this was what Teo Ser Luck said so it was a joke.
Han Hui Hui: In the piece of evidence earlier on, you said a kangaroo court, which country are you talking about?
Judge: I’m gonna disallow the question.
Han Hui Hui: When you say the judge is a dog, which country are you talking about?
Judge: I’m gonna disallow this question.
Han Hui Hui: When you say they have taken money from the PAP, who is the “they” you are talking about?
Judge: I’m gonna disallow all questions.
Janet: So you were not aware of the programme by the YMCA and children were there?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: The only thing I knew about the event was that er it was organised by YMCA and Minister Teo Ser Luck was coming as guest of honour.
Janet: Whatever you have done I don’t know, do you feel that when you are helping Ravi, you know everything and then isn’t it a conflict of interest that now you are standing as a witness against the whole issue?
Ariffin Iskandar Sha Bin Ali Akbar: That’s not for me to answer.
Janet: Your honor, I have a question and I’m confused, may I know why Ariffin is not being charged but become a witness? So I would like to know whether our laws apply differently to different people, I would appreciate it if the court would explain to me because I’m confused about the whole issue?
Judge: The decision to charge or not to charge lies with the 4 Deputy Public Prosecutors.
Janet: So I have to ask the 4 Deputy Public Prosecutors?
Judge: Only the Prosecutors know.
